You Are Loved!

God’s love is beautifully shown in His awe-inspiring creation around us. From the immensity of the cosmos to the tiniest microorganisms, the diversity of life and the awesome balance of the ecosystems are testimonies of His infinite wisdom and everlasting love for us. Everything that we need in this life is provided and cared for.

There is a song by Tommy Walker titled, Thank You for Loving Me that captures my heart and true understanding of God’s love. The lyrics say this:

What love the Father has lavished on us

That we should be called His sons and daughters

Precious in His sight

Greater love this world had never seen

When He hung on that tree

O why would He do such a thing

For dirty sinners like you and me?

– Thank You For Loving Me by Tommy Walker

Have you heard this worship song? The songwriter understood how wide, how long, how high, how deep, how endless the love of God is for you. The word “lavish” was used to characterize excess, very generous, extravagant, or in great quantity. The greatest love of all in the history of mankind was demonstrated through the Cross. The guarantee of such sacrifice is “Sonship”, that we may be called His sons and daughters, a title for everyone who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Why would God do such a thing? Jesus does not deserve such affliction and punishment. He was bruised and pierced unto death! His life demonstrated a ministry of love to people when He healed the sick, the dead came to life, the blind came to see, the demon-possessed was freed, and He performed numerous miracles.

Romans 8:38–39 said,” For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord”. This is God’s love (Agape), which embraces a deep and profound sacrificial love that transcends and persists regardless of circumstance. Jesus died for the imperfect, weak, wicked, broken, ungodly, cursed, rebellious, and all God’s enemies. His saving grace is available for those who believe in Him. He proved to us His unconditional love when you are still sinners, Jesus died for you and me (Romans 5:8).

His love for you is more than you can comprehend. No matter what is happening in your life today, please remember that you are LOVED, you are precious and cared for.
